Measurement Science

Tales from the Measurement Front webinar this Thursday

Developing meaningful performance measures for inclusion in national quality reporting programs is no easy task, but as you will learn from this webinar series, it can be done.

Come ready to engage and learn how these organizations answer the big questions in this new landscape:

  • How and where do you begin to develop additional measures that could be meaningful to your membership?
  • What challenges did you encounter during the development process?
  • What are some key lessons or take aways from your experience that you would share with others who are starting their own measurement project?

Dr. Jason Itri, MD

Vice Chair, Quality Measures Technical Expert Panel,

American College of Radiology

Judy Burleson, MHSA

Senior Director, Quality Management Programs,

  • NQRN Qualified Clinical Data Registries Work Group -- Promote advocacy for QCDRs and inform the development of resources to aid in the process of becoming and maintaining QCDR status
  • NQRN Research Work Group -- This is a new work group designed to connect registry stewards with the wider community of researchers who use or may have the opportunity to use registry information to support clinical research

For more information or if you would like to join one of these groups, please contact either , Program Manager, Registry Programs or , Director of Data and Innovation for more details. We look forward to having you in these work groups!

CMS Launches Data Element Library Supporting Interoperability

The CMS has announced the agency’s first Data Element Library (DEL) to support the exchange of electronic health information.

“Using this free, centralized resource, the public for the first time can view the specific types of data that CMS requires post-acute care facilities (such as nursing homes and rehabilitation hospitals) to collect as part of the health assessment of their patients. These assessments include questions and response options (data elements) about patients, including demographics, medical problems and other types of health evaluations. Many of these data elements have been standardized, which means that they are exactly the same no matter which type of post-acute care facility is using them.”
